Beginning Camera Class…
Posted on January 29, 2010
Kelly and I had our Beginning Camera Class this past Saturday at the studio. We had a great group and they had so many “a-ha” moments! Which is great to watch! We were forced to stay inside due to the weather but we had some great models who were so cute! Thanks guys for spending the day with us…practice, practice, practice. Read your manual!!!
I passed my two cameras around for people to practice on so I don’t know exactly who took what pictures so I am sorry I can’t give proper credit. I took these top two…

I know this is Cheryl G’s picture with my camera…because…

I took this one over her shoulder.

Randy brought Cooper out to model for us. His Mom, Cheryl took the class. Not sure who took this picture…but I love it.

Again, not sure who took this one…love the lips.

I just had to post it…Coop has found his nose. I had several of these shots on my cards!

The Johnson kids also came out to model. Mr. Cape…

Cape loved the bubbles. I wish someone would have told me that my big ol’ leg was in their shot. I think Cheryl Case took this one.

Helicity loved working the camera…no idea who shot this one…but I love it!!!

Skinner Family…

Meet the Skinner family. I was Eric’s school nurse when he was in high school and I was Deana’s L and D nurse when they had their newest addition Addyson. Deana had to give me a hard time at the shoot about my singing during her delivery…apparently I thought singing Kelly Clarkson to her would calm her frazzled nerves (she says it didn’t
). We had a great, easy shoot…they brought along Eric’s parents who got the best smiles out of Tyler and Addison. Thanks guys for coming to see me, I love your sweet family!

So stinkin’ cute!

Above statement applies here too…

Krotzer Girls…

Meet Bailee and Emmalee. They came to see me last week and they brought their boots and some fun clothes to play dress up in! When their Mom, Lynnlee, asked me what I thought about bringing some vintage clothes to their shoot, I said “heck yes!”. I loved watching the girls put on their clip on earrings, high heels and gloves. I had to join in on the fun a little too
Thanks girls for coming to see me! I love playing dress up with you!!!!

Passing on a little knowledge…

Last week Lindsey Brown came and spent the day with me. She is a photographer from Walters, Ok who is just starting out in her business. We had a great day together and she had so many “a-ha” moments! It was so fun to watch! I have to apologize first for the fact that I do not have any pictures of Lindsey. The weather was horrible and she wanted to wait to do some shots of her when we could go outside. I will post those later. I wanted to share some of the pictures Lindsey took…they are of some of my favorite kids!
Lindsey, I know we covered a ton of information, but I hope you learned a lot. I pray blessings over you and your family and your business. May you never lose your love for people and your sweet spirit. Fix your eyes on Jesus and chase your dreams, Bev
Sweet baby Kate…

Christa is back from Korea and spent the week in WF, so good to see her again

Carter was so not in the mood for taking pictures…I think the kids had about 50 suckers that day!

Adam…those curls.

Have a little faith…

Another post without pictures…this may become a habit. I wanted to let you guys know about some things that have gone on in my life lately. My husband, Scott, was laid off from his job at Howmet two days before Christmas. While this was a little brutal right before Christmas, we both were completely at peace with it. We both felt that God had been preparing our hearts to face this. Although it is scary in some ways, in others there is complete peace. It has totally changed my perspective on material possessions and what is most important in my life. We are excited about where we are going next, but we have no idea where that is! So, that brings me to this blog. There are some changes that have to be made to weather this storm and the first is that I will be working more at the hospital. I have had the luxury for the last six years of picking my schedule and saying when I want to work but that is ending. In the future, I will only be scheduling photo shoots for the current month where I know my work schedule. I will put on my blog when I am taking bookings for that month. I know this means I will be turning a lot of people away but at this point in time I am choosing health insurance over the income of photo shoots. I hope you understand and I am apologizing in advance for being even harder to get scheduled! We covet your prayers and we are claiming Phillipians 4:19 and Matthew 6:33.
Ezra England…

Meet Ezra. I got the great honor of ushering this little life into this world and one year later I had the honor of taking her pictures. (You can see Ezra, her Mom and I in the about me section) Her Mom was one of the funnest patients I have ever had and when her Mom and Dad saw her for the first time, we all lost it. Ronnie and Ashley, you guys make me feel like I have known you for years. Your heart for God is inspirational while being honest and real. I can’t wait to see where He takes you. Thanks for bringing Ezra to see me, she has a special place in my heart!

Her heels…she wouldn’t leave them on long enough to get a shot.

They are called “heelarious”…so cute!

Cake makes me feel the same way!!! Happy Birthday Ezra!

April and Jason Engaged…

Meet April and Jason. They are getting married next month and we headed out this weekend to do their engagement shoot. It was cold, cold, cold but they were troopers. I know I have said so many times, but if you are getting married, make sure you get engagement pictures! It is a great way to get to know your photographer and feel more at ease on your wedding day. April and Jason, I can’t wait till your wedding guys…thanks for a fun evening!

Hello 2010…
Posted on January 6, 2010
Hey Friends! Happy New Year! I have had some much needed rest during this last month and it has done me a world of good. I have said it before and I will say it again, at the end of November I was so tired. Doing multiple shoots a day and then sitting at a computer for hours on end left me feeling like a hamster on a wheel. Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole photography process, but my life was very out of balance. I took on way too much and for the life of me, I really do not know why. During that busy season, a major crisis landed in my best friend’s lap. She needed me and I remember looking over my calendar and to-do list, which had no free time to spare, and thought “how did I get so busy that I do not have time for my friends”? This was not my proudest moment, quite the opposite. I knew I had some changes to make.
As the new year starts, most people blog their list of resolutions and commit to doing things differently. They list their goals and desires for the coming year in their health, relationships and professional life. I however, do not have a long list, but just one resolution. This year I am committed “to know and follow hard after God”. I admit that this past year, that has not been the case. I have followed my own agenda, dreams and desires and have given God the “leftovers” of my time and talent. My camera and computer, not almighty God, has been what has awakened me in the morning and laid me down at night. God has a word for the things that take over His rightful place in my life, they are called “idols”. He has some pretty strong words for them but just to paraphrase, he can’t stand them. I am acutely aware of what mine are and am actively taking some measures to tear them down. I truly believe that when my only goal in life is to love God with all of my heart, soul, and mind, while loving others as I love myself, (Matthew 22:36-40) all of those other “resolutions” will fall into place. I am excited to see where He is taking me and I am falling in love all over again with my Creator. Better is one day with Him than a thousand elsewhere. Stay tuned…
I wanted to share a song I listen too every morning…weird, but this song’s first verse gets me every time. TobyMac \”Lose My Soul\”
Wrapping it up…

This Fall season has been busy, hectic, fun and exhausting. As much as I have loved it, I admit…I am tired. There is an end in sight and it is this weekend! I did my last shoot the week of Thanksgiving and am finishing up my last orders this week. If you have not placed an order please do so by tomorrow at 5 pm!
I have had several people email me lately about doing shoots over Christmas and I am sorry but I am not doing anymore shoots until the first of the year. (FYI-I only have a few slots left in Jan and my first weekend appt available is Feb) My tree is up, but not decorated, my family Christmas pictures are done but a card has not been made and not one present has been purchased. So, I am will be frantically doing that the next two weeks.
Lastly, I am continually amazed at how much my little business has grown in the last year. I owe that my each and every one of you. Thank you for allowing me to take your pictures, it has been an honor, one that I do not take lightly. I look forward to seeing what next year holds!
Have a Merry Christmas!
Horan Family…

Meet the Horan Family. All of the clan was together for Thanksgiving last week so we got their family photos done. We had a great shoot and we went out to MSU for a little change of scenery. The babies loved all of the decorations that were up, there was just too much for them to look at. Thanks Horan family for coming to see me…hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Yeah, Bev, not sure if I would appreciate you singing while I was giving birth either! Ha ha ha!
Beautiful photos, beautiful family! Praying for you and Scott as he job-searches. Praying that perfect job comes open for him.
